The DDA is designing improvements for Huron Street, between Third and Division Streets.
The goal is to improve safety and make Huron more comfortable for pedestrians and more supportive of commercial, hospitality, and residential activity. Key design elements may include new lighting, landscaping, and enhanced crosswalks. In addition, the DDA is exploring the possibility of parking on some sections of Huron during off peak travel hours.
Successfully redesigning the street will involve close coordination with the City of Ann Arbor, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), and community stakeholders.
The project will begin with public outreach in summer 2017 and complete design in fall 2018 to allow construction to begin in spring 2019.
