William Street Bikeway

What?
The William Street Bikeway Project will incorporate an east-west bikeway on William Street.

Public meetings are scheduled March 19 – 22, at these Discovery Workshops you will learn more about the scope of the project and have opportunity to provide feedback.

Where?
William Street from 3rd Street to State Street.

Why?
The goal of this project is to create a bikeway from the Old West Side to Downtown to the U-M Campus that is comfortable and approachable for all users. We want everyone—from a new student to a long-time resident —to feel comfortable biking on William. We want to create a street that encourages more people to bike to and spend more time in downtown. We want to create a People-Friendly street that reflects the values and character of the downtown to make downtown a better place.

The project is being done in coordination with the First and Ashley Project [link to project page]

How?
We will complete the project in four phases: Input from the community, Design, Engineering and Construction

The Ann Arbor DDA is funding this project and will work closely with the City of Ann Arbor, downtown businesses, residents, neighborhood organizations and other stakeholders.

The consultant team consists of SmithGroup JJR, Toole Design Group, Wade Trim and Q+M.
